WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR FIRST VISIT
Upon entering our office, the front desk will welcome you as a member of our family. There will be some paperwork for you to fill out, including your health history and information on your condition. If convenient for you, these documents can be downloaded and filled out in advance of your appointment. See Online Forms to download.
Next you will have a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Darwin to discuss your condition, overall health, and health goals. Then Dr. Darwin will perform a comprehensive chiropractic examination to determine the source of your problem and discuss treatment options. If x-rays or other tests are required, Dr. Darwin will discuss the rationale with you.

WHAT TO EXPECT AS YOUR TREATMENT PLAN PROGRESSES: THREE PHASES OF CARE
Relief Care
Many people go to a Chiropractor because they are in pain. In this first phase of care, the main goal is to reduce your symptoms. Sometimes this requires daily visits for several days, or two to three visits the first two weeks. As you improve, your appointments are gradually spaced in response to your progress.
You may think the absence of pain is an indicator of health. However, pain and other symptoms often appear only after dysfunction has been going on for a long time and unraveling this dysfunction is key to return to health.
Corrective Care
Most chiropractors regard the elimination of symptoms as the easiest part of the treatment plan. If treatments stop here, the chance of the condition recurring are much greater. In order to prevent a recurrence it is necessary to continue receiving care even though your symptoms are gone.
During the correction or restorative phase of care you will not need adjustments as often as you did during the first phase of care. You will likely be doing exercises during this phase to help accelerate your healing.
Wellness Care
Once you have fully healed, regularly scheduled chiropractic adjustments can ensure the continued health of your musculoskeletal system. Dr. Darwin will discuss whether this is a recommended type of care for you at the completion of your corrective care plan.
